About me

Education & qualifications

Psychologist. Master of Psychology (with honours), full higher education in Psychology. I work within the cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) approach — an evidence-based method of psychological support. I completed a professional development certificate programme in “Clinical Psychology” (900 hours / 30 ECTS, Alfred Nobel University), as well as training in psychological support for war trauma.

Master’s diploma with honours — speciality “Psychology”, professional qualification “Master of Psychology”. Vinnytsia Institute of Economics and Social Sciences, “Ukraine” University, 2019. Diploma M19 №034376.

Professional development course “Clinical Psychology” — 900 hours / 30 ECTS, Alfred Nobel University in cooperation with the NGO “AEMD”, September 2025 — March 2026. Certificate №KP-248/26 of 22.03.2026, №0PE2EEY4. Registered in the CPD system of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine (order №650 of 16.04.2025), 900 CPD points.

Speciality areas in the certificate: clinical psychology, medical psychology, psychotherapy, psychophysiology, psychiatry, child psychiatry.

Certificate “Psychological Support for War Trauma” — 10 hours, International Psychology School, Anna Yangaieva, 11.04.2025. №202504WT/1-110.

For me, psychology is not a change of career but its natural continuation. Almost 20 years in finance and management: from economist to financial director, building teams and B2B lines, recruitment and training. I served as an aide-consultant to a member of parliament and to a regional council deputy, and was engaged in community and charitable work. All of it was about people — their decisions, motivation, interaction. Psychology deepened that experience and added a systemic, interdisciplinary perspective that complements CBT. First degree — manager-economist (2009).

⚠ Consultations are provided as psychological support based on the cognitive behavioural approach. The psychologist offers help solely within the limits of his professional competence; he does not provide psychiatric care, does not make medical diagnoses and does not prescribe medication. This is not a medical service and does not replace consultation with a psychiatrist or a medically licensed psychotherapist.

Evidence base

What I rely on

CBT has one of the strongest evidence bases in modern psychology. In my work I follow the standards, protocols and recommendations of leading global institutions:
01The source
Beck Institute
Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy
The institute of Aaron Beck, the creator of CBT. The global standard for cognitive behavioural therapy training and practice.
02Global standards
APA
American Psychological Association
The largest body of psychologists worldwide. Standards of evidence-based practice.
NICE
National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (UK)
The UK body whose clinical guidelines recommend CBT as a first-line treatment for anxiety, depression and PTSD.
WHO
World Health Organization
The World Health Organization recommends CBT-based interventions in its mental-health guidelines (mhGAP).
03CBT associations
ABCT
Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies
A leading US scientific association advancing evidence-based behavioural and cognitive therapies.
EABCT
European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies
The European umbrella uniting national CBT associations and shared training standards.

What CBT is proven for

Per NICE and APA guidelines, CBT is a first-line treatment for depression, anxiety disorders, panic, phobias, OCD and PTSD; it is also recommended for psychotic and eating disorders. It works for adults, adolescents and children.

Recognition in Ukraine

CBT is one of the leading evidence-based psychotherapies in Ukraine. Building an accessible mental-health system is set out in the Concept to 2030 and the action plan approved by Cabinet of Ministers Decree No. 572-r of 21 June 2024, and is delivered through the national "Ty yak?" programme. Since 2025 mental-health services are part of the Medical Guarantees Programme.

Special attention to supporting the families of service members and veterans. Module 2 of the ANU programme; IPS certificate “Psychological Support for War Trauma” (2025).

02
Crisis states

Psychological support in acute and chronic crisis states: personal crises, grief and loss, maladjustment, acute stress, emotional exhaustion. Help in restoring inner resources and finding stable ground. Module 4 of the ANU programme.

How it works

The path to change

1
Contact & assessment

Write on Telegram @psyfrolov or via Mindly. The first meeting is an assessment of your request: what is happening, for how long, what you want. No pressure, full confidentiality.

2
Case formulation

Together we build a CBT model of your situation: how thoughts, emotions, bodily reactions and behaviour connect. We set measurable goals — the foundation of the protocol per Beck Institute standards.

3
Protocol-based work

Structured sessions following an evidence-based CBT protocol. Between meetings — practical tasks; progress is tracked with measurable outcomes, as NICE and APA recommend.

4
Relapse prevention

Self-regulation skills become your own. A dedicated protocol phase — relapse prevention — so results hold even after therapy ends.

What people say

★★★★★

“Hello! I chose to work with Roman because I liked how he described himself as a specialist — short, concise and factual. I have not regretted my choice: this format of communication suits me — polite, correct, accessible, yet dense and informative. This is not my first therapy, so I truly value a specialist who uses modern scientific approaches. At the moment I am fully satisfied and continue the work. If you have an analytical mind, I definitely recommend trying to work with Roman.”

Sasha M.
★★★★★

“Roman made a very positive impression as a specialist. He speaks directly and honestly, without embellishment or rose-tinted glasses, which helps you grasp the essence of the situation. His deep professional approach shows: he listens attentively, gives substantive comments and proposes concrete directions for the work. He is clearly intelligent, experienced and knows his craft. Communication was comfortable, and his advice — practical and useful. I will continue the work.”

Yaroslav B.
★★★★★

“This is my first experience with a psychologist, and I enjoy working with Roman. Sometimes he is not easy to understand — but that is because he does not hand out ready answers, and that makes you think. I also like his adaptability: the difference between how we talked in the first session and now is huge. He sees people and adjusts to exactly the form of communication that is needed and will be heard.”

Anna K.
★★★★★

“Roman has a very effective and rational approach to therapy. I would separately note his high level of professional training and deep knowledge in the field.”

Anastasiia B.
★★★★★

“Working with Roman turned out to be a very good decision. I appreciate his approach as a specialist and his constructive feedback. There is never anything superfluous or off-topic in the sessions. He skilfully adjusts to your emotional state and specific request, and works in the moment. He deftly highlights distant yet important aspects of the issues, helping to understand and deal with them effectively. Definitely recommended!”

Anna M.
★★★★★

“A true professional. He listens to my wishes and, building on them, guides me through life's difficulties. He knows how to choose the right words — after our conversations it gets easier. Supportive. At this stage I am grateful and will continue the work.”

Diana K.
★★★★★

FAQ

Questions & answers

What happens in the first session?
The first meeting is an introduction and assessment: what is happening, for how long, and what you want to achieve. At the end you get an honest answer on whether I can help, and a plan for further work. No pressure, no obligations.
How long does the work take?
CBT is a short-term approach. Depending on the issue it usually takes from a few to 15–20 sessions. Progress is tracked with measurable indicators, so you always see what is changing. The goal is not years of therapy, but teaching you to help yourself.
Is the online format effective?
Yes. Research shows online CBT is comparable in effectiveness to in-person work. A session lasts 45 minutes via video call — all you need is a stable connection and a place where you won't be disturbed.
How much does a session cost and how do I pay?
An individual session (45 minutes) is ₴3000 / €60 / $70 / 275 zł. Payment via the Mindly platform or as agreed on Telegram. Booking takes two clicks.
Is it confidential?
Completely. The content of sessions is not shared with third parties. You may keep your camera off if that feels more comfortable — the format is discussed individually.
How is a psychologist different from a psychiatrist?
A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who diagnoses and prescribes medication. A psychologist works with thoughts, emotions and behaviour using psychological methods. I do not provide medical services; if I see that a doctor's consultation is needed, I will say so honestly.
